Farmowners
The Farmowners program
is a multi faceted insurance program that is designed to fit many different
farms. From the commercial agriculture producer and incorporated farms to the
small back yard hobby farmer, each ones needs and exposures can be addressed.
A wide range of coverages
and endorsements allow a policy to provide "Homeowners" type coverage to the
insureds dwelling, and broad coverages are available for the farm buildings
and farm property. There are several options for farm machinery and livestock,
and the program can provide for liability exposures found in a wide range of
farming operations.
One type of farm we have
made a market in is equine establishments. From boarding to breeding, teaching
to training, most of the exposures can be provided for. For those that we are
unable to provide full coverage for, relationships with specialty carriers have
been developed. Through these relationships we can gain access for mortality
and liability for the large equine operations.
Within the Farmowners program
several specialty "commodity programs" have been developed. The Connecticut
Christmas Tree Growers and Connecticut Sheepbreeders are two. Eligibility requires
membership in the state association. Each program provides special coverage
and rates tailored to the needs of the specific association. We are always looking
to develop new relationships
Farm Properties and Farm Liability
These two programs allow
Patrons Group to provide property and liability coverages for those farm risks
that do not meet the eligibility requirements in the Farmowners program. As
with the Farmowners program, there is a wide range of coverages available to
meet the needs of this group of farmers and the "agriculture landlord".
Farm Umbrellas
There are two Umbrellas
available depending on the liability formed used. A Farm Umbrella for those
farms eligible for the Farmers Personal Liability form, and a Commercial Umbrella
for the incorporated farm and partnerships where we are using the Commercial
General Liability form. The program requires that we write the underlying liability
coverage, but we may use automobile policies from other carriers.
Farm Automobile
The farm automobile program is designed to provide coverage for truck, semi-tractor and trailer type vehicles that are garaged on a farm and principally used in the farming operation. We offer both standard and preferred rating tiers.
